Community Guidelines
Last updated:
Nikkup is a place for Muslims who are serious about marriage. These guidelines keep it safe, respectful and true to that purpose. They apply to profiles, photos, messages and any contact that starts on Nikkup.
Be here for marriage
Join only if you are seeking marriage and are free to marry. Casual dating, "just chatting", and using Nikkup to promote a business, a cause or another platform are not allowed.
Be real and honest
- Use your real name and your own recent photos; one clear face per photo, no group photos, celebrities, drawings or AI-generated images.
- Be truthful about your age, marital status, children, religious practice, location and intentions.
- Keep one account only. Do not impersonate anyone.
- Polygyny: only where the law of both members’ countries allows it, and it must be clearly disclosed.
Be modest
Photos and words should be modest and appropriate for a marriage platform. Nudity, sexual content, suggestive photos or messages, and requests for private photos are not allowed.
Be respectful
- No harassment, insults, threats, bullying or unwanted persistence after someone says no.
- No hate speech or discrimination, including against a person’s ethnicity, nationality, sect or background.
- Respect people’s boundaries, pace and decisions. "Not for me" is a complete answer.
- Welcome the involvement of a wali or family.
Keep it safe
- Never ask for or send money, gifts, crypto, bank details or help with visas or fees.
- Do not pressure anyone to move to another app or share contact details before they are ready.
- Do not share another member’s information, photos or messages outside Nikkup.
- No minors: anyone under 18 is removed immediately.
- Nothing illegal, including fraud, trafficking or promoting violence.
Report what you see
If someone breaks these guidelines, use Report on their profile or in the conversation. Reports are confidential and reviewed by trained moderators. Deliberately false reports are themselves a violation.
What happens if the rules are broken
Depending on severity, we may remove content, show a warning, limit features, suspend or permanently ban the account, and, where there is a risk to someone’s safety or a crime, inform the authorities. Banned members may not create new accounts. If you think we got it wrong, email [email protected] and a person will review your case.
