For families & walis

In Islam, marriage joins two families, not just two people. Nikkup is built so that parents and walis can be part of the journey.

  • Verified, serious members

Members verify their identity with a selfie and an official ID. The platform exists for marriage only.

  • The wali is welcome

Your son or daughter can invite you as their wali, so you can see and join conversations with their consent.

  • Modesty and privacy

Photos can stay blurred until a match; profiles can be private or invisible; strict photo modesty checks.

  • Respectful conversation

Clear community guidelines, scam detection and moderators keep conversation appropriate.

How wali involvement works

Simple, private and always with the member’s consent.

  1. Invitation

The member invites their wali from a conversation, with a secure link.

  2. Chaperoned conversation

The wali can follow and join the conversation, so nothing happens out of sight.

  3. Family to family

When both sides agree, walis can exchange contact details and speak directly.

  4. Proposal and Nikah

From there, families take the next steps together, in their own way.

A note for parents

  • Nikkup is only for people aged 18 and over who are seeking marriage.
  • Encourage your child to verify their profile. Verified members are more trusted and see more verified people.
  • Offer to be their wali in the app. It is one tap for them.
  • Talk openly about safety: no money, no pressure, family involved before meeting.
