How Nikkup works
Discover → Match → Connect → Understand → Involve family → Move toward Nikah. Here is each step in detail.
Step 01
Create an authentic profile
Sign up with your phone number (or Apple / Google, plus a verified phone). One person, one account, 18+ only.
- Your deen and practice, education, profession and family background
- Marriage timeline, children, relocation and living arrangements
- Deal breakers: must have, prefer, flexible or deal breaker
- The 15-question Marriage Compatibility Questionnaire
Step 02
Verify that you are real
Trust levels, shown as simple badges, never a score: Phone verified → Selfie verified → Identity verified.
- A guided selfie with a quick head-turn liveness check
- Your face is matched with your profile photos and your ID
- ID documents are stored encrypted, seen only by moderators, and deleted after review
- Men verify their ID before they can message
Step 03
Discover compatible people
A curated set of recommendations each day, plus Nearby and Search when you want them.
- Up to three plain reasons on every card: “Why you’re seeing this profile”
- Only people who fit your deal breakers, and whose deal breakers you fit
- Distances shown as rough ranges, never exact locations
Step 04
Match when both are interested
Choose Interested or Not for me. When both sides are interested, it is a match. Serious Interest lets you add a short note.
- Nobody is told when you pass
- One respectful opening message is possible before a match
- Matches expire after 7 days of silence, so nobody is left waiting
Step 05
Understand each other
Conversation that stays respectful, with prompts that help you talk about what matters for marriage.
- Icebreakers from your shared answers and 100+ marriage questions
- Scam and safety detection warns you about money requests and pressure
- A limit on active conversations keeps the focus on quality
Step 06
Involve your wali and family
Invite a wali or family member into the conversation whenever you are ready. Nothing is shared without consent.
- Chaperoned conversations with your wali
- Wali-to-wali contact exchange when both sides agree
Step 07
Move forward
Each match has a private journey: Interested → Getting to know → Serious → Family involved → Proposal.
- Only the two of you see your journey
- No points, streaks or pressure
Step 08
Nikah
The purpose of the whole journey. When you marry, you can share your story (with both spouses’ consent) and close your accounts.
